Scheduling across time zones? Pick a date and time, choose the 'from' and 'to' time zones, and get the converted time instantly. Daylight saving is applied automatically from the official time zone database, so the answer is right for your exact date.
How to use this calculator

- Choose the time zone that time is in (the 'from' zone).
- Choose the time zone to convert to.

The formula
UTC = local time − source offset; destination time = UTC + destination offset
Worked example
12:00 PM in New York on January 15 is 5:00 PM in London — New York is on EST (UTC−5) and London on GMT (UTC+0), so London is 5 hours ahead.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I convert time between time zones?
Take the starting time, convert it to UTC by applying the source zone's offset, then apply the destination zone's offset. This calculator does it for you — and crucially, it looks up the correct offset for your specific date, because offsets change with daylight saving. Just pick the date, time, and both zones.
Why does the conversion depend on the date?
Because of daylight saving time. New York is UTC−5 in January but UTC−4 in July; London is UTC+0 in winter but UTC+1 in summer. The difference between two cities can change by an hour depending on the date and whether each place observes DST. Converting without the date is guesswork — always include it.
What is UTC?
Coordinated Universal Time is the global reference clock — essentially the time at the prime meridian in Greenwich, England, without daylight saving. Every time zone is defined as an offset from UTC (e.g. New York is UTC−5 in winter). All conversions here go through UTC behind the scenes.
What is the best time for a meeting across US and European time zones?
The overlap window is narrow: 9 AM–12 PM Eastern is 2–5 PM in London and 3–6 PM in Central Europe — usually the sweet spot. For US West Coast to Europe it's tougher: 8 AM Pacific is already 5 PM in Berlin. Enter your candidate time here to verify it works for everyone.
